What's A Transmission Flush All About?
Have you ever had your transmission flushed? When was the last time you had your transmission fluid and filter changed? If you're having trouble remembering, chances are it's either been too long or it has never been done.Would you like to do all you can to prolong the life of your transmission? If you take care of your transmission, your transmission will take care of you. Let us tell you how:
Particles And Debris
During the lifespan of any transmission, normal wear and tear creates small particles and debris. This is a totally natural occurrence and no need for alarm; that's just the way it works. However, as these particles circulate throughout the transmission, their abrasive nature tends to create even more particles and the amount of debris grows exponentially. A little known additional fact is that these particles, or solids, generate more heat because they create more friction between the hundreds of rotating parts inside your transmission. To sum it all up, the more particles and sold debris, the more friction and heat.
Minimizing Wear, Extending Life
While you can't do anything to prevent the naturally occurring debris from being created, you can do something to minimize it and thereby greatly prolong the life of your transmission. And that something is a Certified Transmission Flush. A flush removes the circulating particles and debris, thereby reducing friction and heat. A flushed transmission simply runs cooler.
Finding Out What You Need
Our unique flush procedure includes a road test and we perform a computer scan of your vehicle and take all steps necessary to make sure your transmission indeed needs a flush. Many times only a routine fluid and filter change is all that's needed.
Opening Up The Transmission
Next we remove the transmission oil pan and transmission filter. We chemically wash the pan spotlessly clean, along with the magnet in the bottom of the pan. If your transmission doesn't have a magnet, as many don't, we'll add a magnet to protect your transmission from future metal particles circulating and accelerating wear.
New Fluid And Filter
We install a new transmission filter and pan gasket. We torque the pan bolts to factory specifications with a micrometer-type torque wrench to insure a proper seal and no leaks. We then fill your transmission with the finest fully synthetic transmission fluid money can buy. You can't find a better fluid that is more universally compatible. To check out the specs on the fluid we use, go to our Amalie Synthetic Universal Transmission Fluid page.
Our Patented Machine
The next step in the flush procedure is to disconnect the transmission return line from the radiator, at the transmission. This is where we connect our PATENTED TransTech Transmission Flush Machine to your vehicle. No other transmission shop in Utah has this machine and can't duplicate what we do, how we do it, or get your transmission any cleaner.
Out With The Old, In With The New
When we start the flushing process, because we already removed the pan and changed the fluid and filter, your transmission is picking up only new fluid. With our flushing machine diverting all old fluid coming out the transmission cooler and torque converter into a waste oil tank, brand new synthetic fluid is being pumped in to replace the old fluid. Basically for every quart of old fluid we get out, a quart of new synthetic fluid is being injected into the transmission until all old fluid is in the waste tank and nothing but new fluid is in the transmission.
After a final check of the transmission fluid level, you're good to go!
