What can you do about a leaking transmission?

If only one or two seals or gaskets are leaking now, the other 8 to 12 external seals can't be far behind. This is why we recommend performing a complete reseal service for any transmission over 5 years old that develops a leak. We do not recommend replacing the transmission cooler lines between the transmission and radiator unless they are leaking, damaged, or mis-routed.
If the transmission is less than 5 years old, then only replacing the seal(s) or gasket(s) that are leaking now is an option. However, the chance of the transmission developing a leak at some other gasket or seal later on is a very good possibility.
If all the external seals aren't far from leaking, it's only a matter of time before the internal seals have problems. Internal hydraulic sealing problems are what produce most transmission failures. Resealing a transmission is risky business because of this "snowball effect". Please be aware that fixing a leak on any transmission does not increase the life expectancy of a transmission. You will have a transmission in the same condition you drove in with, it just won"t be leaking.
In performing a reseal service, we do not guarantee the potential life expectancy of the transmission, or the internal seals. Internal seals, gaskets, and sealing rings are available only as an overhaul and are priced as such. We will recommend the best way to correct your leak. However, if you choose a partial repair involving not replacing all seals, you and you alone, must accept the responsibility of your decision.
We guarantee the seals, gaskets, and o-rings we replace against defective parts or workmanship for 1 year or 12,000 miles. The metal cooler lines that carry transmission fluid to the radiator for cooling are not covered by our guarantee unless they are replaced.
